This guide explains how to update the time settings for products that are booked / rented on an hourly basis. These settings control when bookings / rentals can start and end, the intervals available, and how buffers and time slots work.
1. Access the Product Setup
Choose the product you want to update.
2. Go to the Booking Setup Tab
Within the product, select the Booking Setup submenu.
This section contains all the rules and time settings for hourly products.
3. Key Fields for Hourly Bookings
Update the following fields as needed:
Field | Function |
Earliest Rental Time | The earliest time a rental can begin. |
Latest Return Time | The latest time a rental can end. |
Booking Interval | Sets the interval of time a booking can be (e.g., 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours). |
Buffer | The time required between bookings before the next one can start. Important for time slots. |
Time Slots | Define specific start and end times for bookings. Uses Earliest Rental, Latest Return, and Buffer. |
Check-in/Check-out Days | Days of the week when reservations are allowed. |
Tip: The buffer is especially important if you use time slots. For example, if you have a slot from 8:00am–12:00pm and another from 12:00pm–4:00pm with a 15-minute buffer, the second slot will not be available online if the first is booked, unless the buffer is set to 0.
4. Setting Up Time Slots
Time slots must fall within the Earliest Rental and Latest Return times.
The system will automatically calculate the buffer and interval between slots.
Click Save when finished.
Additional Tips
Minimum/Maximum Duration: You can set minimum and maximum booking durations in hours. These are unnecessary if you use time slots.
Minimum Book in Advance: Set how many days in advance a booking must be made (e.g., 1 means at least 24 hours before start).
Maximum Book in Advance: Set how far in advance bookings can be made.
