It is important to note there are a couple prerequisites that must be setup or confirmed prior to creating units. There will need to be a Booking Type and Unit Group already created.

Creating Multiple Spaces at Once
When wanting to create more than 1 space it would save time by generating them all at once.
Click the Marina module using the navigation panel on the left.
Click Settings at the menu ribbon at the top.
Select the Spaces tile.
Click Generate Spaces at the top right-hand corner.
You will be greeted with the space generation screen.
Field | Function |
Prefix | What the space begins with for all generated spaces. Example- 50 new dock spaces could have Prefix = 'F-' and the units generated would be F-01, F-02, F-03 and so on. |
Starting Number | Where you want the numbering to start. Always use a zero in front of single digits like 01, 02, etc. since Sharper sorts these in alphanumeric order. |
Ending Number | Where you want the numbering to end. |
Suffix | Same as prefix, but just the suffix. Not used very often so no need to feel like you need to enter something here. |
Booking Type | Space will fall under this category when created. For example, adding a dock space would be tied to the Wet Slips or Dockage booking type. |
Space Group | Breaks the unit into groups. For example, adding a space to the A Dock unit group. |
Description | Description for all units about to be generated. |
Map Caption | The name that appears on the map. |
Fill out the form using the table above.
Assigning New Spaces to Products
Now that we’ve created the units we need to go tie them to the product to be used.
Using the navigation pane at the top select Products.
Select the product that the unit should be assigned to.
On the left-hand side, select Units.
Make sure the new units that need to be assigned to this product are Checked.
Save
You can technically create the units without there being a product yet. You will just not be able to tie the units until the product is created if it isn’t already.
