To utilize the bounced check feature, the setup must be completed initially within System Settings → Accounting Integration.
If your property has a multi-outlet or TRS/REIT, configure the settings in Company Settings → Accounting Settings. It is essential to create the settings for each outlet.
Configure the Bounced Check Journal Debit Account (typically an accounts receivable account) and the Bounced Check Journal Credit Account (usually the bank account where the ACH are deposited).
When a check bounces in Sharper, the system will utilize the accounts set up to create a journal entry to credit the bank account where the ACH was entered and debit AR to establish a balance on the customer’s account for repayment.
