Incidental charges are POS transactions that can be created directly through a customer's reservation. The order will be tied to the reservation, and the total of the reservation will increase by the amount of the charge.
Adding an Incidental Charge to a Reservation
Step 1. Assign the Register
In the top right-hand corner, make sure a Register is selected. It is a good idea to use the register with cash management.
If no Registers are available, open a register first in POS β Registers.
Step 2. Add the Charge
In the customer's reservation summary screen, select the Plus icon next to Incidental Charges.
A product grid will appear with much of the same functionality as if you were viewing a POS register. Create the ticket in order to add the charge i.e. gas, ice, etc.
Step 3. Take the Payment
Using the Credit Card Icon will require a 'swipe' of the card. You can also take Cash, Check, etc. This is if you do not want to tie the charge to the reservation.
Using the Add button will tie this charge to the reservation as a separate invoice once it is finalized.
Once you hit finalize, the reservation summary screen will reappear, the Total has increased by the charge amount, and in Transactions β Invoices you will see an invoice for this charge.
At the bottom right-hand corner of the reservation summary screen click Pay in order to pay any remaining balance.
Switch the payment method to Credit Card and click Select a Saved Card to select the card then hit Pay.
