How-to Troubleshoot User Unable to View Register

When a user enters their Personal Identification Number (PIN) to access the register, and they are unable to Log in.

Solution

Below will provide an overview of potential scenarios that users may encounter, resulting in difficulties logging in. The most prevalent scenario will be discussed first, followed by a descending order of likelihood.

User’s role does not have access to Registers

To ensure that users have access to the POS register, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the System Settings using the panel on the left.

  2. Click on the Users tile.

  3. Search for the specific User by name to review their assigned roles.

  4. Access the Roles submenu and confirm that they are assigned a role that grants access to POS Registers.

  5. Remember to save any changes by clicking the Save button after verification.

User is not selected in the Register settings

This situation is highly prevalent right after a new user has been created.

  1. Begin by navigating to the left-hand side panel and choose Point of Sale.

  2. Proceed to select Registers from the top menu.

  3. Locate and click on the name of the register to which they require access.

  4. Utilize the menu on the left-hand side to click on Users.

  5. Ensure that the user is selected.

  6. Remember to Save the changes and repeat the process for any other registers they require access to.

User forgets PIN

  1. To begin, navigate to the left-hand side of the screen and select System Settings from the navigation panel.

  2. Locate and click on the Users tile.

  3. Identify the specific User you wish to modify and proceed by clicking on their name to access the editing options.

  4. At this stage, you have the ability to either view their current PIN or make alterations to it as needed.

  5. Once any changes have been made, remember to click on Save to ensure that the modifications are applied successfully.

User is viewing the wrong register

The user might have access to specific registers but is currently looking at the wrong one. If they do require access to this register, they should follow the steps outlined in "User is not selected in Register Settings".

User may be viewing a closed register

Users are unable to access a register that has been closed. Please ensure that the register is open if you need to view its contents.
