Reading your meters can be efficiently done in large quantities by utilizing Sharper’s meter read batch.
Adding the Meter Readings
Using the navigation pane on the left, select the Marina module.
Click Meter Readings on the top ribbon.
Select Meter Read Batch at the top right-hand corner.
You will be greeted with the Meter Read Batch screen.
Field | Function |
Space Group | Breaks the batch into ‘groups' determined by the Space Group |
Reading Date and Reading Time | Time and date of the meter reading |
Invoice Date | When these meter readings are invoiced, they will generate with the date in this field. |
Service Charge | Charge that gets applied for reading meters. Optional per marina. |
Invoice Now | When batch is Saved it will generate the invoices for those meter readings with the date in the Invoice Date field. |
Auto Pay | Does not run autopay. This just allows the invoices that generate to be auto-payable when auto payments are ran in the CRM later. |
Payment Term | Invoice payment term. |
Previous Reading | Previous reading of the meter |
Current Reading | Current reading of the meter |
Change the Reading Date and Reading Time accordingly.
Enter the Invoice Date.
Optional - Select Invoice Now
It is a good idea to turn Auto Pay on, since only those customers with a saved Default payment method can run autopayments.
Leave Payment Terms blank if you want to default to system settings, or enter a payment term if meter readings require a different payment term.
Going down the list, enter the Current Reading.
When done with this Space Group select Save in the top right.
Making sure the Save button at the top right has turned green, select the gray Space Group button and switch to the next group.
Repeat Steps 9-11 until completion.
If it’s your first time reading meters through Sharper you will put in the previous and current reading. If it is not your first time, you will be putting just the current reading in.
You will not be able to Save if the current reading is equal to the previous reading. If that is the case, do not put anything in the Current Reading field until a difference has been made.
